However, it is hard to determine an exact average due to the differences in individual needs. We have found that customers with irrigation or watering systems can use an additional 80,000-200,000 gallons during the summer months!

A cross connection is any actual or potential connection between the public drinking water supply and a source of contamination, which can allow pollutants to enter the drinking water through backflow.
Why is water running out of a pipe in the middle of nowhere?
For the purpose of safe drinking water quality, our distribution system has built-in "blow-offs" in areas of the system where the water mains have a dead end. By running water through these "blow-offs", we maintain a constant circulation of water in the system.
