Local Building Inspector
The Town of Tisbury is looking to fill the position of Local Building Inspector. The position works under the Building Commissioner. Position assists the building and zoning enforcement officer with permit applications, conducts field inspections, reviews plan and enforces applicable Mass state building code, town zoning bylaws, rules and regulations. Both written and verbal communication skills are required for this position. Must have equivalent of five years’ experience in the supervision of building construction or design and zoning enforcement; or associate degree in related field; as determined by the BBRS. BOCC. M2 step 1 starting pay rate: $44,23 or commensurate with experience, plus paid leave, health insurance and pension benefits. Town Clerk Administrative Assistant
Town of Tisbury seeks individual to perform Assistant duties. Administrative support for the activities and operations of the Town Clerks office. Some duties include Answering phones, Administering Oath of office, posting meetings and hearing notices in compliance with Open Meeting Law, Dog licensing, Payments, Issues ZBA and Planning board permits once appeal period is over. Full-time (40 hrs/weekly) year-round, starting pay $33.57 /hour, Grade 3 step 1 or commensurate with experienced and generous benefits package under union contract including retirement. ADULT SERVICES LIBRARIAN. Vineyard Haven Library seeks, Tech-savvy individual with excellent communication skills needed. The position serves as an information resource to the community, providing reference and research services, reader’s advisory, and support and instruction for use of the Internet, electronic library resources, computers and other technology. Duties include cataloging, collection development, and other administrative and technology tasks. Full-time (40 hours/week) year-round schedule includes evening and weekend hours. Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s Degree in Library Science preferred, and from three to five years of professional library experience or experience in a related field, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Certificate of Librarianship from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and certification as a Massachusetts Notary Public within 1 year of hire. Finance Director
Municipal Finance Department- Finance Director. The Town of Tisbury is seeking an individual to serve as the Finance Director who serves as the Treasurer/ Collector. The Director is responsible for the overall financial stewardship of the town. The role requires a strong leader who can balance the day to day operations with long term fiscal strategy. The position oversees a wide range of critical functions including budget development and administration debt management, payroll, tax collections, assessing cash flow and compliance with Mass Municipal finance laws. Must be effective communicator. Ideal Candidate will have knowledge of Municipal Finance, budgeting, investments and accounting. Ability to lead, collaborate, independent, proficient with financial software, Munis, spreadsheets and databases. The anticipated starting salary range is $138,000 to $150,000 depending on qualifications. Wastewater Plant Operator
The Town of Tisbury is looking to fill the position of Wastewater Plant Operators 2, 4 or 6. Operators with licensing preferred for applicant interested in joining a new career for the Town Wastewater Treatment Plant facility. The starting rate of pay for Plant operator 2 is $33.65 hourly, under Union contract with full benefits. If applicant has licensing starting pay range of $37.60-$45.11 pay commensurate with licensing. Must be able to obtain certification within one year of hire, training paid for by the town. . The position is physically and mentally challenging with opportunities to develop mechanical and technical abilities in the operation of a municipal wastewater treatment facility and collection system. Must be available to be on call to work nights, weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. Weekly stipend for on call and overtime. Must have a valid Driver’s license. PATROL OFFICER Tisbury Police Department

The Town of Tisbury is seeking individuals for the position of Patrol Officer Academy training is not required, but preference will be given to those who have already successfully graduated from a full-time MPTC Academy. MPTC Bridge Certification considered. Lateral transfer experience will be considered in determining the Pay Step when hired. Those who have not yet attended the academy, if selected through our hiring process, will be sent to train at an upcoming MPTC Academy. While attending the police academy, recruit officers will be paid the current Step 1 pay scale along with full health and dental benefits.
