Shellfish
The Shellfish Constable's main responsibilities are to promote shellfish propagation through aquaculture, pollution remediation, the predation program, and to enforce the MA State and Town shellfish regulations. The Shellfish Constable maintains all boats, vehicles and equipment in the department. Public education is an additional vital role performed by the Constable, informing the public and media about any law changes, season openings and areas open and closed to shellfishing.
